Greentalk launches the latest free tree giveaway in conjunction with the London Borough of Hounslow.

Back for the second year running, Hounslow Council are continuing to support their ambitious environmental strategies by giving away 1,000 trees to residents, schools and allotment holders. This represents double the quantity given away in 2021, and a significant commitment to make Hounslow greener.

Councillor Salman Shaheen, Hounslow’s Cabinet Member for Parking, Parks and Leisure  said “Planting new trees helps to mitigate the effects of climate change, encourages biodiversity, and supports all sorts of different habitats. Trees play such and important role in our borough, and we’re always intent on growing our tree planting community”.

Our Tree Ordering Module has been refined to allow for different stakeholders within the borough, in this case residents and schools, to apply for trees through Hounslow Greentalk. By engaging local communities and school children at an early age, we can raise awareness of the importance of trees and the benefits they provide. By providing a way for local residents to get involved they can make a positive difference to air quality and the environment around them.

For 2022, Greentalk’s Tree Ordering Module was refined to allow for greater product/SKU management, dynamic pick-up locations and a refined customer management system, allowing staff to manage orders more easily, and to deal with customer issues more quickly. In addition, it provides aftercare. Once planted, trees are automatically adopted by the resident or school who will receive tree care tips and watering alerts to help ensure their trees thrive.

You can find out more about the project through the Hounslow Council website here.
